Premier League Kick Off – Another chance to score £250!
6 August 2018The Premier League might take place in England and Wales but it’s a truly international affair.
Players from 107 different foreign nations regularly grace our pitches, representing everyone from Algeria and Angola to Venezuela and Zimbabwe. In fact, the Premier League has the most diverse league in the world, with over 69 per cent of players coming from overseas.
Now, with the 2018/19 season about to begin, and the transfer window in full swing, NATS is working with airlines and airports across the UK to help welcome the league’s latest signings. Whether it’s bringing the £65m shot-stopper Alisson to Liverpool, or uniting midfield maestro Jorginho with his new Chelsea teammates, air travel plays a crucial role in keeping the Premier League stocked with the world’s best footballing talent.
What’s more, with a staggering 1.2 billion fans worldwide, the Premier League attracts thousands of tourists each year. Giving overseas supporters the chance to sit in the stadium of their favourite club – be it Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Anfield, or any of the league’s other iconic grounds – it is all down to the dedication and professionalism of the NATS’ air traffic controllers.
To celebrate their role and increase awareness for the way their vital work impacts our daily lives, we’ve launched the #SkyByNumbers campaign.
Running for 12 weeks, we’ll be asking a new airspace related question – giving two lucky winner the chance to score £250 each week.
This week’s question has been inspired by the new season:
How many flights do NATS’ air traffic controllers manage in the busiest 90 minutes of the week?
You can answer on any of the NATS’ social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – and remember to come back on Monday 13th August, when we’ll be announcing the winner.
Don’t forget to include the hashtag #SkyByNumbers in your answer!
