Economic Regulation

Licenced en route air traffic service provider

Economic Regulation

Under the Transport Act 2000 NATS (En Route) plc (NERL) was licenced by the UK Government to provide en route air traffic services in the UK.

The Licence provides the basis through which NERL is economically regulated by the CAA, principally through price controls that are imposed periodically in respect of its Licensed services.

NERL has submitted its business plan for the next price control period 2023-2027, more commonly known as NR23, to the CAA. Further information is available here nats.aero/nr23

The CAA will now assess our proposals before publishing its own findings, which will be consulted on, with a final decision expected by the end of the year.

For further information visit the CAA’s website.
